Dr. Yao-Ying Ma's group in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology at Indiana University School of Medicine is accepting applications for motivated postdoctoral researchers. Candidates with a Ph.D. degree in Neuroscience / Neurobiology /Pharmacology/ Behavioral Neuroscience / Biophysics or other related fields are highly encouraged to apply. Experience in rodent brain surgeries,  behavioral training,  in vivo single unit or in vitro patch clamp electrophysiological recordings, is preferred. 

Research in Dr. Ma's group is supported by NIH and Brain & Behavior Research Foundation, etc. There are 3 major directions actively pursued, e.g., (1) synaptic adaptations induced by alcohol exposure; (2) neurosubstrates mediating long-term persistence of drug craving; (3) neural adaptations involved in psychiatric symptoms of neurodegenerative diseases. The Ma lab utilizes molecular, biochemical, anatomical, electrophysiological, optogenetic, chemogenetics and behavioral approaches to elucidate neuroadaptations in diverse neuropsychiatric disorders.
