The Carlezon Lab at McLean Hospital seeks a postdoctoral scholar with a background in molecular neurobiology. This role will include participation and leadership in highly collaborative projects designed to examine the effects of stressors such as sleep disruption and/or immune system activation on brain stress peptide systems in laboratory animals and humans.

The Carlezon Lab focuses on how experience, including exposure to stress, changes the brain and behavior.

The fellow will be mentored by William Carlezon, Ph.D. and have access to the McLean Hospital and Harvard Medical School academic environment and resources. The successful candidate will be proposed for academic appointment as a Research Fellow in the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School.

Major job duties may include:

For this position, we are prioritizing candidates with expertise in molecular neurobiology, with tangible experience with methods such as RNAScope, single cell analyses (DropSeq, 10x), or viral-mediated gene transfer. These techniques will be utilized in highly collaborative projects designed to examine the effects of stressors such as sleep disruption and/or immune system activation on brain stress peptide systems in laboratory animals and humans. These projects are part of McLean’s NIMH Silvio O. Conte Center on stress peptides (SPARED)

Qualifications:

A Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree is required for this position.
