Faculty Position in Neuroscience
The Department of Neurosciences at the University of Toledo, College of Medicine and Life Sciences (UTCOMLS) is undergoing an exciting phase of growth and faculty expansion. Significant resources have been committed to expand basic and translational research. We now invite applicants for full-time Assistant or Associate Professor tenure-track faculty positions. We seek outstanding colleagues who work at all levels of investigation to address fundamental and translational questions relevant to the nervous system. Current areas of research include autonomic neural circuit mapping, synaptic and non-synaptic neuronal signaling, bioinformatics, neurobiology of empathy and mechanisms of schizophrenia, autism, Alzheimer’s disease and PTSD. UTCOMLS offers a collaborative academic environment with considerable core facilities
(https://www.utoledo.edu/med/research/icf/facilities.html). Positions provide competitive salary, start-up funds, and research space. Joint appointments are available in relevant clinical departments for candidates performing translational research.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree, significant postdoctoral training and a record of high-quality scholarly activity. Applicants at the Assistant Professor level with extramural support will be given preference. Applicants at the Associate Professor rank must have a nationally recognized research program and significant extramural support. Successful candidates are expected to have and maintain an extramurally funded research program and contribute to medical, graduate and undergraduate student training in neurosciences.
