We welcome applications for a postdoctoral position for the Nobuta laboratory at Rutgers University located in New Jersey, USA. The postdoctoral fellow will conduct research on human oligodendrocyte biology, development, and disorders. The project will involve cellular/molecular, electrophysiological and informatic analyses of the oligodendrocytes as well as neuron-oligodendrocyte interaction in human tissues, specimens, and cell lines. The project also involves cell culture, cell sorting, in vivo surgical procedures in mice, iPS cell maintainance/manipulations, genetic manipulations, and computational analyses. It is expected that research will lead to publications and the postdoctoral fellow will be expected to prepare manuscripts, fellowship applications, as well as contribute to the preparation of grant applications. The fellow will also be expected to guide the research project of undergraduate and graduate researchers and participate in collaborative work with other laboratories. The fellow will be expected to maintain effective communication and active discussion related to the involved research with the principal investigator and laboratory members. The fellow will be expected to participate in the configuration and maintenance of instrumentation necessary for conduct of the project.
The laboratory is located in Piscataway, New Jersey, USA. This is a grant-funded position contingent on the availability of funds to support it.
Eligibility:
- Ph.D. degree or equivalent in neuroscience or related disciplines
- Experience in cell/tissue culture
- Experience in grant/fellowship writing
