The Department of Psychology in The College of Arts, Sciences & Education at Florida International University (FIU) is searching for multiple non-tenure track full-time open rank teaching professor positions with specific emphases on Behavior Analysis (4 positions) and Behavioral Neuroscience (1 position). The positions are for 12-month full-time, non-tenure track teaching faculty. Teaching professor positions are in-unit faculty positions that are renewable annually, benefits eligible, and eligible for promotion opportunities that mirror those of tenure-track faculty. The department is a leader in pedagogical reform efforts and is focused on improving the quality of undergraduate and graduate instruction, particularly in gateway undergraduate courses that affect student success as measured by retention and on-time graduation. Teaching assignments will have an emphasis on hybrid (i.e., blended) instruction in a new master’s program in Behavior Analysis or a new bachelor’s program in Behavioral Neuroscience. Candidates will be expected to perform departmental service as a full-time member of the department’s faculty. A Ph.D. in psychology or a related area (e.g. Neurobiology and Behavior, Neuroscience, etc. for the Behavioral Neuroscience position) is required for all positions, and active status as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst is required for applicants to the Behavior Analysis positions.

The department has 42 tenure-track faculty, 24 teaching faculty and research/clinical faculty, more than 200 graduate students spread across five doctoral specialty programs and three master’s programs, and over 5,000 undergraduate majors. The department is a growing hub for neuroscience research, with a doctoral program in cognitive neuroscience established in 2014 and 17 core and affiliated faculty in neuroscience.
