The Campbell lab (www.RNAcentral.com) is seeking a highly motivated post-doctoral scientist interested in understanding the molecular and cellular mechanisms of plasticity. We use genomic methodologies and molecular biology to probe how nascent translation is controlled in the context of pain. This position is funded by a new 5 year grant from NIH/NINDS. In specific, we seek candidates with the following qualifications:
 
·       Ph. D. in Neuroscience, Physiology, Pharmacology, or related field
·       A minimum of two first author papers published or accepted in peer-reviewed journals
·       Strong background in behavior (experience with pain models is highly desirable)
·       Familiarity with animal surgery, mouse genotyping, confocal microscopy, western blots, and primary cell culture
·       Creative thinking skills and excellence in problem solving
·       Ability to work collaboratively 
·       Excellent oral and written communication skills
·       Strong proficiency in the English language
·       Innate source of curiosity
·       Enthusiasm to learn new methods and test new hypotheses
