Assistant, Associate or Full Professor (Adjunct, In-Residence) Radiology Research

The Department of Radiology (http://radiology.ucsd.edu) is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body. The department is seeking recruit a research faculty member with expertise in genetics and in-vivo neuroimaging.

The researcher will support the mission of establishing novel solutions at the intersection of clinical utilities, science, and technology. The candidate will investigate their potential as biomarkers in the clinical setting and, specifically, the neural mechanisms underlying human cognition, behaviors, and diseases.

The applicant must have a PhD in neuroscience, bioinformatics, bioengineering or a related field, with a broad background in Physics, Chemistry, Physiology, and Biomedical Sciences. Extensive and broad experience in algorithm development for population genetics and MRI applications in combination with translation to clinical applications will be sought. The applicant must have outstanding writing and communication skills, demonstrable liaison with the corporate world of clinical applications and other universities, and international reputation attested to by a successful publication or patent record, honors and awards

The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on the University of California pay scales. The candidate will be expected to be fully self-funded from research grants. The Department of Radiology does not anticipate providing any startup funds or ongoing funding for the position.

As a member of the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, the appointee should be aware that there are limitations on outside professional activities and clinical moonlighting is expressly prohibited.
