Postdoctoral Researcher in Neural Circuitry Studies
The Stowers Institute for Medical Research has an opening for a Postdoctoral Researcher to study neural circuit underlying innate social behaviors. The chosen candidate will participate in research in one or more of the following areas: the molecular mechanism of neural circuit specification, the development and plasticity of neural circuitry, and mapping of neural circuitry involved in specific behaviors. The lab employs a combination of methodologies including molecular genetics, single cell sequencing, fluorescent whole-brain imaging, optogenetic, chemicogenetic and behavioral techniques. More details, including selected publications, can be found at http://www.stowers.org/labs/yulab.asp.
Minimum requirements include a doctoral degree in the life sciences, chemistry, or biomedical engineering. Experience in one or more of the following areas is desirable but not required: molecular biology, developmental neuroscience, genetics, immunology, electrophysiology, and imaging.
In addition to excellent verbal and written communication skills, successful candidates must be highly motivated, work independently and creatively, committed to a scientific career, have the ability to work in a team-oriented environment, and be proficient at problem solving.
Application Instructions: To apply, please submit (1) a brief cover letter and (2) a current CV, and (3) request 2 letters of professional reference to Dr. Ron Yu at firstname.lastname@example.org cc: email@example.com.
