A Postdoctoral Fellow position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Congcong He in the Department of Cell and Developmental Biology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, Chicago, Illinois. The successful candidate will participate in federal and private-funded projects aiming to understand the function and molecular mechanism of autophagy (an essential lysosomal degradation pathway) in the regulation of neuronal cell metabolism and reward and social behaviors, using knockout, knockin and transgenic mouse models, cell biology, biochemistry, imaging and state-of-the-art behavioral techniques (Lab website: http://labs.feinberg.northwestern.edu/congconghe/home/). Prior research experience in metabolic and/or neurological diseases in mouse models is particularly desirable. He Laboratory is stably supported by funding from National Institutes of Health, private foundations, and Northwestern University.

Qualifications: A Ph.D. degree in cell biology, neuroscience, physiology, developmental biology, or a closely related field; a record of peer-reviewed publications; expertise in animal handling and experimentation; and good verbal and written communication skills. Competitive candidates should be self-motivated and willing to learn new knowledge and techniques.
