Postdoctoral fellow in cellular neuroscience/auditory physiology
Postdoctoral positions are available in the laboratory of Dr. Hai Huang in the Department of Cell and Molecular Biology, and Brain Institute at Tulane University.
The Huang lab aims to understand the synaptic mechanisms that support reliable and precise signal transmission under physiological and pathological conditions by utilizing the calyx of Held and also expanding to other conventional synapses, using a combination of techniques including electrophysiology, two-photon imaging, computational modeling, molecular biology, and animal models. We are particularly interested in studying ion channels and transporters in controlling presynaptic properties, vesicular glutamate transport, vesicle recycling, neurotransmitter release and synaptic plasticity, as well as how hearing loss and neurological diseases affect the synaptic and neuronal function. Please refer recent publications at https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/myncbi/1TqRs-nTyu8AM/bibliography/public/ for more details.
The successful candidates should have strong background in neuroscience and experience with patch-clamp electrophysiology. The position is funded by NIH grant and salary will follow guidelines set by NIH and Tulane.
Interested applicants please provide: 1) curriculum vitae, 2) the names of three references, 3) a brief description of research interests to Hai Huang at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Tulane University is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action/ADA Employer and encourages minority and female applicants to apply.
