Multiple Post-Doctoral Positions in the Electrophysiology and Neuropathology of Traumatic Brain Injury and Post-Traumatic Epilepsy at the University of Pennsylvania.

Highly-motivated postdoctoral fellows are sought to train at the Penn Center for Brain Injury and Repair at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania in the laboratories of Drs. John A. Wolf and Victoria E. Johnson.  The Penn Center for Brain Injury and Repair has been in existence for more than 30 years and comprises a highly-integrated research team studying the acute and chronic effects of neurotrauma and neural repair mechanisms. 

The position will support funded projects examining the mechanisms of epileptogenesis in a unique animal model of post-traumatic epilepsy. The project will involve in vivo modelling, electrophysiology and tissue level analyses, including histological outcomes. Successful applicants will be expected to play a central role in executing these challenging translational studies within a collaborative and dynamic team environment.

The position requires excellent presentation and interpersonal skills. The applicant should be highly motivated and an independent thinker with a demonstrated track record of project completion and publication. Candidates with either in vivo modelling, in vivo electrophysiology (extracellular) or histology experience are preferred. Experience with coding and the analysis of data (MATLAB) is also advantageous, regardless of any background in electrophysiology.
