The Psychology Department ( at Rhodes College ( invites applications for a three-year visiting assistant professor beginning in August 2020. Rhodes College believes that diversity and inclusion are critical to our success as an institution, and we seek to recruit, develop, and retain the most talented people from a diverse candidate pool. The successful candidate must demonstrate a firm commitment to teaching at a liberal arts college. Teaching responsibilities will include six courses a year from the following: introductory psychology, statistics, research methods, and upper-level research and seminar courses in the candidate’s area of specialization. Preference will be given to candidates who can teach courses in one of our interdisciplinary programs, including Neuroscience, Educational Studies, Urban Studies (Health Equity concentration), Africana Studies, and Latin American and Latinx Studies ( The Psychology Department values and supports faculty-mentored student research. Opportunities to support research include competitive summer research funds and travel funds. Candidates must have completed all requirements for a Ph.D. in Psychology or a related field by August 2020.
