Postdoc and Technician
Multiple postdoc and technician positions are available immediately in the laboratory of Dr. Chao Peng at the neurology department of UCLA. Our lab focus on the molecular mechanisms of alpha-synuclein and tau related neurodegenerative diseases including but not limited to Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease and multiple system atrophy. We develop cutting edge disease models and applies powerful genetic, multi-omics and high through-put screen methods to investigate a wide range of topics related to the development and progression of this group of diseases. We are particularly interested in the transmission and conformational diversity of pathological proteins in the central nervous system and the role of neuron-glial interactions in this process. For more information about the lab please visit us at https://penglab.dgsom.ucla.edu/pages/
Successful candidates for postdoc positions are expected to have a PhD, MD, or MD/PhD degree with a strong record of publication and should be highly motivated, collaborative and able to conduct independent research. Candidates with strong background in neuroscience, bioinformatics, biochemistry, or stem cell biology are particularly encouraged to apply.
Qualified candidates for technician positions should have a BS/BA degree with experience in mouse surgery, protein purification or stem cell culture. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English is required.
Application should be combined as a single PDF and send to Dr. Chao Peng (email@example.com). For postdoc positions, please include your detailed curriculum vitae, a statement of research interests describing your background and research interest, and the contact information of three references. For technician positions, please include your detailed curriculum vitae, a cover letter describing your motivation and how your background would fit to this position, and the contact information of three references.
