High Point University invites applications for an Associate or Full Professor rank (tenure-track) Director of Neuroscience, with a start date of August 2020. Responsibilities will include serving as Director of the Neuroscience program. Teaching responsibilities will include Principles of Neuroscience, a core course within the neuroscience curriculum; and contributing an upper level elective course in their area of specialty.
Preference will be given to candidates with expertise using research models that can be successfully implemented at a primarily undergraduate institution. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record of teaching excellence; will be well-versed in best teaching practices in the undergraduate classroom; will be expected to develop an active research program involving undergraduates; and will have access to startup and institutional research funds. A Ph.D. in neuroscience or a closely related field is required. A Ph.D. in neurobiology or a closely related field is required. Undergraduate teaching and postdoctoral experience are preferred.
