ROLE of the POSITION

The Department of Brain Health in the School of Integrated Health Sciences at UNLV is accepting applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor (tenure-track) faculty member on a 9-month appointment in the Department of Brain Health. The successful applicant will perform leading edge research in neuroscience with particular emphasis on neurodegenerative disorders. The ideal candidate will have a research program that intersects with existing strengths in the Department of Brain Health including but not limited to biomarker discovery (genomics or proteomics), disease mechanisms, and/or development of new therapeutics and clinical trials research. The position includes mentoring, advising and supervising graduate students in the UNLV Interdisciplinary Neuroscience Ph.D. program. Additionally, the successful candidate will be expected to meet University criteria related to research, teaching, and service, and will be expected to adhere to UNLV Top Tier Initiatives regarding research productivity, which includes securing extramural grant support and publication in high impact peer reviewed journals. Anticipated start date will be July 2020.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires a Ph.D. in Neuroscience or closely related field from a regionally accredited college or university. Post-doctoral experience is required. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start of employment.

 

SALARY RANGE

Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions. Position is contingent upon funding.
