Position Type

The Huang laboratory is seeking two highly motivated post-doctoral fellows to participate in a BRAIN Initiative project. The Huang lab studies cortical circuit development and function and we are seeking two individuals to approach the research using different approaches: (1) studying the molecular and/or developmental genetic basis of cortical neuronal cell types in the overarching context of cortical circuit development and function (e.g. Paul et al., 2017 Cell. 2017 Oct 19;171(3):522-539; He et al., Neuron. 2016 Sep 21;91(6):1228-1243), (2) studying the cortical basis of motor control leveraging neuron types as a solid middle ground to navigate across levels of brain organization and explore circuit function (e.g. Paul et al., 2017 Cell. 2017 Oct 19;171(3):522-539; Lu et al., Nat Neurosci 2017; He et al., Neuron. 2016 Sep 21;91(6):1228-1243; Taniguchi et al., Science 2013).

Our team consists of interdisciplinary and collaborative members who combine genomic, genetic engineering, developmental, anatomical, physiological and behavioral approaches. We are looking for two candidates with either (1) strong training in neurobiology, developmental biology or molecular genetics or (2) strong training in anatomy and/or systems neuroscience who is interested in using and developing innovative strategies to dissect cortical cell types and circuits in the context of sensorimotor behavior. The successful candidates will be mentored by Professor Josh Huang and will also work with computational collaborators on data analysis. A more detailed description of our research program is at

Interested individuals should send their C.V., cover letter, and a list of three referees to:
