Postdoc Fellow in Neuroscience - Alzheimer's disease
The post-doctoral fellow will be responsible for characterizing cellular senescence, inflammation, and neurotransmission as it relates to Alzheimer’s disease progression and the mechanism(s) of action. The successful candidate will join an exciting research environment in a NIH funded research lab within the Center for Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders and the Neuroscience Institute at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. The position offers exceptional training in in vivo electrochemistry, rodent behavior, Alzheimer’s disease, aging, cellular senescence, and cellular and molecular techniques.
The ideal candidate must have a PhD in Neuroscience or a related area, animal handling experience, a genuine interest in Alzheimer’s disease research with experience in rodent stereotaxic surgery and behavioral testing. Preference will be given to those with experience in rodent behavioral paradigms, stereotaxic surgery, molecular biology, or research related to cellular senescence. Potential candidates should possess good verbal and written communication skills, the ability to work independently, and an interest in mentoring young scientists.
