A postdoctoral researcher position is available in the lab of Dr. Jacob Reimer in the Center for Neuroscience and Artificial Intelligence at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX. We are seeking individuals with an interest in neural circuits underlying sensory processing and brain state modulation, but will consider strong candidates with a wide range of systems-level interests. Candidates should have experience collecting neural recordings in behaving animals and intervening at various levels to analyze neural circuit function. Experience with analysis and visualization of complex data in MATLAB or Python strongly preferred. We offer a dynamic environment with the opportunity to collaborate with computational neuroscientists in the labs of Andreas Tolias, Xaq Pitkow, Fabian Sinz, and others. The candidate will have access to a variety of cutting-edge equipment for multiphoton calcium imaging including a 2P-RAM (Janelia) mesoscope for large field of view two-photon imaging and a three-photon microscope for imaging activity in deep layers of cortex, and an acousto-optical deflector microscope for fast imaging of genetically-encoded voltage indicators developed by the Francois St-Pierre lab. Additional technologies, for example Neuropixel probes for high-density electrophysiology, or SLM for two-photon optogenetic stimulation can be made available depending on project demands. Education: Ph.D in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
Experience: Experience with in vivo imaging and behavioral experiments AND/OR analysis of imaging and behavioral data.
