A postdoctoral position is available immediately in the Pak Lab in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, University of Massachusetts Amherst and the Institute of Applied Life Sciences (IALS). Further information see: https://www.thepaklab.org/ and https://www.umass.edu/ials/
We are seeking outstanding applicants for a postdoctoral position in the human stem cell models of neurological disease. We are studying the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying synaptic dysfunction in neuropsychiatric disorders using neurons, astrocytes and 3D brain organoids derived from human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs). The research will be conducted by multidisciplinary approaches integrating stem cell differentiation, electrophysiology, molecular biology, and cell biology. Applicants with a strong background in patch clamp electrophysiology are encouraged to apply. Experience in tissue culture or viral neurobiology techniques is a plus. Candidates must have earned or will soon receive a PhD or equivalent (MD or MD/PhD) in neurobiology or related fields. Candidates are expected to be highly motivated, independent, and creative.
Interested candidates should send a cover letter, CV and a list of three references to email@example.com.
