A post-doctoral fellowship position is available at the Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging (Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School).  The research project is to demonstrate and functionally characterize novel types of cortical columns in higher-stage brain areas in healthy human subjects.  To accomplish this, the fellow will use advanced MRI scanning techniques (including functional 7T at high spatial resolution).  Experiments may also involve visual stimulus evolution and behavioral measurements.  Applicants should have a doctoral degree related to Cognitive Neuroscience, Psychology, Visual Neuroscience, Biomedical Engineering or a related field.  Especially relevant experience would include neuroimaging (e.g. fMRI) and/or vision research, general programming, statistical analysis and computational approaches.  Duration is 2-3 years, with a flexible start date.  Salary is $70,000/year USD.  Interested applicants should send the following information to Dr. Roger Tootell (tootell@mgh.harvard.edu): a cover letter detailing research interests and goals, a CV, writing samples (e.g. prior publications, if available) mainly written by the applicant, and contact information for three references.
