The Smirnakis' laboratory is based at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School. Research focuses on studying neural circuit function in the visual system as well as malfunction in disease states such as epilepsy and autism. Experimental techniques that pertain to the postdoctoral position advertised include: large field of view (mesoscopic) 2-phtoton imaging, spatial light modulation single-cell specific optogenetics, as well as in vivo and in vitro patch-clamp electrophysiology.
