Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position at the University of Texas at San Antonio to investigate circuit and synaptic mechanisms underlying sound localization. The successful candidate will use optogenetics and whole-cell patch-clamp to examine synaptic mechanisms in acute brain slices, and utilize chemogenetics and optogenetics in-vivo to manipulate relevant neural circuits to modify behavior and record single unit at same time. Applicants must possess PhD and/or MD degree and have strong background in neuroscience. Experience in patch-clamp electrophysiology and in-vivo extracellular recording is highly desirable.
