DGIST is a government-funded research-focused higher educational institute located in Daegu, South Korea (about 1.5 hours from Seoul by Express Train). DGIST offers programs for Doctorate, Masters, and Bachelor’s degrees in the field of science and engineering. It launched the graduate program first in March 2011. DGIST is pursuing international recognition as one of the top-ranking universities in the Asia-Pacific region. To this end, it will concentrate its initial resources on education and research in the selective fields of New Biology, Brain and Cognitive Science, Robotics Engineering, Information and Communication Engineering, Energy Science and Engineering.
