"Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, founded in 1809, is an original Public Ivy that consistently ranks among the top public universities in the nation for high quality academic programs, for experiences that lead to student success, and as a “Best Value.” Faculty commitment to students has been ranked among the top five U.S. universities nine times by U.S. News & World Report. A well-rounded liberal arts foundation develops skills for life and careers. For many students, this includes participating with faculty and graduate students in significant research and scholarship activities. Nearly 70 percent of students participate in internships or field work. More than 97 percent of 2016-2017 Miami graduates (per surveys and data) were employed or re-enrolled by fall 2017. The bachelor's degree is offered in 122 areas in Oxford, the master's degree in 62 areas; and doctoral programs in 12 disciplines. About 17,240 undergraduates and 2,500 graduate students attend in Oxford; 5,100 students are enrolled at Miami's regional locations in Hamilton, Middletown and West Chester. Approximately 100 students study at Miami’s European Center in Luxembourg each semester. Nearly 47 percent of students study abroad, choosing from more than 90 countries. Retention and graduation rates are among the highest of NCAA Division I schools. Miami’s ties with the Miami Tribe of Oklahoma make possible cultural revitalization education and research at the Myaamia Center on the Oxford campus. On Money magazine’s Top 10 list for CEOs of Fortune 500 companies, Miami, with four alumni on the list, is the only school with two female Fortune 500 CEOs
