In a time when healthcare is often known for its shortcomings, Washington Hospital Healthcare System (WHHS) is a shining example of how to do it right. Our nonprofit community hospital system is fiscally sound, succeeds at delivering high-quality care and offers leading-edge services that truly meet the needs of our southeastern San Francisco Bay community. Located in Fremont, California, on the southeast side of the San Francisco Bay Area, WHHS is one of 70 local healthcare districts in California. The city of Fremont boasts a moderate climate, an ethnically and culturally diverse population, excellent, highly ranked public schools and proximity to major universities, shopping, recreation and the Bay Area Rapid Transit system.
WHHS operates as a nonprofit entity, reports to an elected community board or directors and is known and respected for its high caliber of care and services. Critical to its mission is the “Patient First Ethic,” which has pushed the organization to continuously improve its care, invest in new technology, and research and implement advanced services that answer the needs of its community. WHHS offers comprehensive care and services, including a 359-bed acute-care hospital, the Taylor McAdam Bell Neuroscience Institute, The Gamma Knife® Center, Washington Center for Joint Replacement, the Institute for Minimally Invasive and Robotic Surgery and several outpatient centers.
