The Department of Neurosciences at The University of Toledo/Medical Center (UTMC) in Toledo, Ohio has an immediate opening for a Research Assistant to join our team. This position will have significant responsibilities to entail neuroscience research and experiments using modern techniques including molecular biology, biochemistry, microscopy and tissue culture.
Minimum qualifications required: B.A/B.S. degree in Biology or a related field required. M.S. degree in Biology or related field or B.S. degree with experience preferred. Primarily responsible for maintaining mouse colony including genotyping and cell/tissue culture. Experience with molecular biology techniques. Excellent general laboratory skills: preparing solutions, organizing reagents, assisting with experiments desired. Working with mice necessary; experience preferred.
Experience in one or more of the following preferred: Cell Biology (preferably tissue culture), Histology, Microdissection, Embryology. Good communication skills, attention to detail, and willingness to learn new procedures. Interest and computer competence.
