Sanofi’s Neuroscience Research Therapeutic Area based in Framingham, MA is looking for a highly qualified and motivated Scientist to develop therapies for rare neurologic and neurodegenerative diseases. This laboratory based position will include the opportunity to lead project teams and interact with internal and external functions to initiate new drug discovery programs and advance ongoing projects. The candidate will use epigenetics tools, genome editing technologies, –omics, bioinformatics and other approaches to identify and validate new targets. The candidate will also advance understanding of the role of the non-coding genome to identify and validate innovative and transformative therapies for rare neurologic diseases.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Design and execute experimental strategies to understand role of genetics and epigenetics in various diseases, for target validation and discovery.
Work collaboratively with translational and clinical scientists to credential targets in human biofluids and tissue samples.
Analyze, interpret, and present experimental results at project team and lab meetings.
Publish/present findings in peer-reviewed journals/scientific conferences.
Maintain clear and accurate records of experiments and analyses.
Clear and effective communication with manager and other colleagues.
Work cross-functionally with scientists from other research groups and partners rapidly advance portfolio projects.
Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Genetics or related field, with at 0-3 years of postdoctoral training; 2-3 years preferred of post-doctoral training.
Strong track record of publications in neuroscience, neurodegeneration and/or neurogenetics.
Strong background in molecular biology, genome editing technologies, bioinformatics, neuronal and glial cell biology and pathology.
Ability to meet aggressive timelines and deliverables in a collaborative environment.
