A postdoctoral position in neural integration is available in the laboratory of Dr Lucy Palmer at The Florey, Melbourne, Australia (www.palmerlaboratory.com). Our laboratory is interested in understanding the cellular basis of neural integration in the mammalian brain with particular emphasis on how dendritic activity shapes neural output and behaviour. The project will investigate the influence of sensory input on dendritic integration during behaviour using whole-cell patch clamp recordings, two-photon calcium imaging, and optogenetics in vivo. We are looking for a highly motivated and talented candidate with experience in electrophysiology and/or imaging. Further, the ideal candidate should have a strong neuroscience or quantitative science background with a proven publication record.
An indicative salary package in the range of AUD$78,667 to AUD$84,446 commensurate on experience (in addition to superannuation and generous salary packaging options). For more information or to obtain a position description please visit the Florey website at www.florey.edu.au/careers. Applications, including cover letter and curriculum vitae should be made no later than 5pm, 21st April 2017 and emailed to email@example.com. For further information on the position, please contact Dr Lucy Palmer on firstname.lastname@example.org
