A full-time Postdoctoral position is available in the Translational Neuroscience Program, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine (www.tnp.pitt.edu), to participate in NIH-funded projects studying the physiological and morphological development of prefrontal cortex neurons. The studies involve assessing the functional and morphological properties of pyramidal cell subpopulations identified in acute brain slices, by retrograde labeling with fluorescent retrograde tracers injected in vivo. Additional work will involve experiments studying electrophysiology of parvalbumin-positive interneurons, and their connections with pyramidal cells in acute slices of mouse prefrontal cortex. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Physiology/Neurobiology or related fields, previous experience in electrophysiology, and an interest in multidisciplinary research.
