Our labs are open to motivated postdoctoral fellows through a collaborative, multi-disciplinary research program focused broadly on the molecular and cellular bases of neurological disorders. Individuals with training in molecular biology are sought for a project to explore roles of chromatic modifiers in the aging mouse and human brain. We are also developing new approaches centered on mRNA editing to repair disease-causing mutations in the nervous system. Individuals with backgrounds in chemistry or physiology, who are interested in working alongside molecular biologists on these problems, are also encouraged to apply. Our Vollum Institute research labs (Oregon Health and Science University) are well funded and offer a stimulating and collegial environment. Portland is a vibrant and affordable city with all the amenities of the west coast. Interested candidates should submit a CV, research interest summary, and letters from 3 references to email@example.com and firstname.lastname@example.org.
PhD in Molecular Biology, Chemistry or Physiology.

About Vollum Institute / Oregon Health & Science University
The Vollum Institute is a privately endowed research institute at Oregon Health & Science University dedicated to basic research that will lead to new treatments for neurological and psychiatric diseases. Vollum scientists have broad-ranging interests that coalesce around molecular neurobiology and cellular physiology. Their work has transformed the field of neuroscience and, in particular, have p...rovided important advances in the study of synaptic transmission, neuronal development, neurotransmitter transporters, ion channels and the neurobiology of disease.
