Tenure-track Faculty for University of Washington Center of Excellence in Neurobiology of Addiction, Pain, and Emotion (NAPE)
The Departments of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine, Pharmacology, and Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences seek exceptional applicants for a tenure-track Assistant, Associate, or Professor rank faculty position in the newly formed UW NAPE center – http://depts.washington.edu/uwnape/.
The mission of NAPE is to produce fundamental mechanistic and applied breakthroughs leading to novel therapies for the treatment of addiction, pain, stress, and emotion. The six current NAPE principal investigators utilize contemporary in vivo techniques as the foundation for genetic, neuropharmacological, cell biological and system-wide analysis of molecular neuroscience. Applicants should have a demonstrated track record of high impact, innovative research relevant to the NAPE mission and approach.
The new NAPE faculty will receive a generous startup package and recently renovated laboratory space to be co-located with other NAPE investigators within the UW School of Medicine’s main campus.

Candidates must have an M.D or Ph.D. or equivalent degree. Both clinician and non-clinician scientists will be equally considered. In order for clinician scientists to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-US) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the US Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
