The Assistant Research Scientist will, in an advanced research setting, perform pain and acupuncture studies. Projects will involve exploring the mechanism of acupuncture analgesia. The overall goal of research will be to examine how acute pain, chronic pain and inflammation are regulated by acupuncture treatment.
Required qualifications include; a Ph.D. in a field that involves neurophysiology training, demonstrated ability to independently design, execute and interpret experiments, demonstrated ability to develop and apply electrophysiology and molecular biology knowledge and skills, a strong publication and presentation record, 3-5 years’ experience conducting research investigating the neurobiology of pain in laboratory rodents using molecular, behavioral and electrophysiological methods and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
