The Department of Neurosurgery at University of Texas Medical School at Houston is recruiting for an Assistant Professor position in robotic research. We are looking for outstanding scientists/engineers with an interest in microsurgical robotic devices and who will work with a clinical team involved in translational projects. The junior scientist/engineer will be offered an excellent opportunity to join an established laboratory working on developing next-generation robotic devices for surgical procedures and treating endovascular conditions.
BS or MS in Computer Engineering or Computer Science (or an equivalent combination of education and experience) and a minimum of 7 years of experience developing software product.
Must be able to gather requirements, write appropriate project documentation and give technical presentations
Assist in system level integration and debug of the hardware and software design, plan, and implement innovative software solutions?
Understating of Parallel & Distributed computing
Strong C and C++ development skills required
Strong OOP skill required
Experience with RTOS such as RTX, Xenomai
Experience with multi-core software development
Experience Hard real-time, high availability system
Code quality minded: experience with QA processes, unit testing, integration testing, source control systems
Experience creating simulation environments for software testing
