Responsible for communicating with sales team, customers, subsidiary offices and distributors to provide applications and solutions expertise regarding the BTX electroporation/electrofusion product line. This includes troubleshooting experiments and equipment, providing technical information/references as well as product recommendations to academic, government, pharmaceutical and other organizations. Provides significant pre and post sales support customer base.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Talks with sales team, prospects, customers, subsidiary offices and distributors via phone and email providing pre- and post-sales support on electroporation equipment and applications.
Supports cross-functional team for product questions and serves as escalation point for product or application issues.
Manages the BTX loaner pool
Assisting with technical marketing and application notes
Adding new protocols to the BTX database by integrating methods as published in journal articles.
Maintains customer records
Assembles product information packages
Attends exhibitions and product demonstrations, as needed.
Obtains customer feedback on applications, leads and beta tests and relays it to product manager and marketing.
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience
MS or PhD. in Biology, Physiology, Neuroscience, Pharmacology or a related specialty with 3-5 years of relevant lab experience or equivalent industry experience using electroporation and/or electrofusion. Familiarity with cell culture, molecular biology, sample preparation, transfection, hybridoma production, and/or somatic cell nuclear transfer techniques a plus.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Must be able to travel to exhibitions.
Must be able to coordinate booth logistics.
Must be able to setup and man the booth.
Must be able to demonstrate and speak intelligently about the applications and usage of products.
