Kent State University is seeking applicants for a full-time Director of our Brain Health Research Institute. We are seeking a visionary Brain Health researcher, who will report directly to the VP for Research and Sponsored Programs, and foster collaborations among our growing and thriving multi-department/college Brain Health program. Kent State has a distinctive blend of research and creative excellence and seeks an energetic and enthusiastic director to augment our national distinction in Brain Health research. With more than 40 faculty across multi-disciplines studying Brain Health, Kent State University offers existing researchers, graduate programs, and infrastructure to facilitate the emergence of this Institute. Current areas of strength include neuroendocrinology, neurodegeneration, cognition, stress and mindfulness. Moreover, the Director will have the opportunity to recruit additional faculty to support the Institute and his/her strategic vision.
The successful candidate will possess an exemplary record of research in areas relevant to brain health with a desire to engage broadly with others in the field and to build relationships withinin and beyond Kent State University. The Director will maintain an established extramurally funded research program while leading, fostering and engaging in collaborative research and building productive relationships and internal and external partners. The Director will also hold the faculty rank of Associate Professor or Professor with tenure in the appropriate department.

Doctoral degree in biological sciences, neurosciences, psychological sciences or relevant field; six to seven years' experience managing research programs to include experience in research areas relevant to brain health. Academic record sufficient to qualify for faculty appointment of associate professor or professor with tenure in the appropriate academic unit.
