Postdoctoral positions are available at the laboratory of Dr. Galit Pelled at the new division of Neuroengineering, in The Institute for Quantitative Health Science and Engineering (IQ) at Michigan State University, MI, USA and (http://iq.research.msu.edu/about/). The Department of BME offers a unique environment for performing state-of-the-art research with many of the top scientists in the field. The lab is transitioning from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and will be operational starting October of 2017.
The lab’s research focuses on developing novel neuromodulation therapies to facilitate recovery following injury in rodent models and in large animals. We apply fMRI (using high field pre-clinical scanners), intracellular and extracellular electrophysiology recordings, optogenetics and magnetogenetics manipulations, transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), optical imaging, molecular biology and behavioral testing approaches. A background in BME and/or neuroscience is required. Expertise in MRI, electrophysiological recordings, optical imaging or behavioral testing is a plus.
