POST-DOCTORAL POSITION available immediately for candidates interested in conducting studies using in vitro and in vivo preparations of the rodent spinal dorsal horn and/or dorsal root ganglion and on in vitro studies of human DRG neurons to investigate cellular mechanisms of pain, injury-induced spinal sensitization and hyperalgesia. A current key focus is on mechanisms of chemotherapy-induced neuropathic pain. Complementary studies in human patients may also be incorporated. Candidates with a Ph.D. and familiar with behavioral assessment in rodents, molecular biology, in vivo or in vitro neurophysiology, and/or neurochemistry are encouraged to apply. Those with gaps in these skill sets but and with an eagerness to acquire new technical training are also sought.
