The Psychology Department at Hamline University seeks applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Psychology. The successful candidate may teach courses such as General Psychology, Sensation/Perception, Research Methods in Psychology, and courses in their area of specialization, actively contribute to the newly launched Neuroscience major (https://www.hamline.edu/cla/neuroscience/), and collaborate with the Wesley and Lorene Artz Cognitive Neuroscience Research Center. Candidates with expertise related to Biopsychology are of particular interest. Hamline’s Psychology faculty are dedicated to teaching excellence, mentoring of diverse populations of undergraduate students, and pursuing innovative research programs in which undergraduates are frequently involved. Faculty currently have a teaching load of 6 courses per academic year (with a course release in the first year for professional development). Pre-tenure faculty also are eligible for a semester long teaching release upon a successful third-year review.
The Psychology Department (https://www.hamline.edu/cla/psychology/), within Hamline’s College of Liberal Arts, is comprised of 6 full-time faculty and over 150 majors and minors. Faculty are deeply engaged in research, scholarship, and professional development. Courses are rigorous and popular, with high-impact learning experiences embedded in courses, internships, and research apprenticeships. The Department administers the Psychology and Neuroscience programs and also contributes to the Public Health Sciences and Criminology and Criminal Justice programs in the College.
