Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL), is seeking an experienced Neuroscience Project Manager to assist Principal Investigator Josh Huang, Ph.D., and a distinguished team of investigators in the daily management of a newly established Neuroscience Center. The Center is focused on developing and integrating molecular, anatomic, imaging, and computational technologies and pipelines to build a Mouse Brain Cell Atlas as a foundation for brain circuit organization and function.
The Project Manager will support and enable productive interactions among a multi-site collaborative group of key knowledge leaders and innovators across various fields of neuroscience, genomics, and technology. The successful candidate will ensure that fiscal management, personnel and resource allocations, reporting and compliance related responsibilities are proactively addressed and properly performed. The Project Manager will coordinate Center meetings, teleconferences, and bi-annual Center conferences; as well as ensure the implementation, documentation and training associated with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across sites. He/she will provide communication capabilities for Center sites, maintain an overall timeline reflecting all tasks, goals, and milestones of the project and serve as the primary interface with institutional grants management staff. The ideal candidate will review progress of Center sites with Center Leadership, advise on technical challenges, anticipate risks, and proactively address the timeline of overall project goals.
The Project Manager will also be expected to assist the Data Core in maintaining a public portal for protocol sharing; track, submit, and post on Center website all publications that utilize Center resources; and work with Research Core and Segment Directors to coordinate, review, and submit all financial and research reports.
A Ph.D. in Neuroscience is required and a minimum 2 years of postdoctoral research experience and some project management experience are preferred. Excellent organizational, analytical, leadership, collaborative and consultative skills are a plus. Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills are needed. The candidate should possess the ability to exercise sound professional judgment while following CSHL as well as Federal and state policies, procedures and practices, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy in all matters.
