A postdoctoral fellow position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Ian Martin in the Jungers Center for Neurosciences Research at Oregon Health and Science University (https://www.ohsu.edu/xd/research/centers-institutes/neurology/jungers-center/research/martin-lab.cfm).
The primary goal for this position will be to identify molecular mechanisms of Parkinson’s disease pathogenesis specifically related to disease-causing mutations in the LRRK2 gene. Using a combination of in vitro biochemistry, mammalian cell culture and Drosophilain vivo models of Parkinson’s disease, the successful candidate will pursue the molecular basis of neurodegeneration resulting from LRRK2 mutations. Individuals with a Ph.D., expertise in molecular biology covering all common protein and nucleic acid work, and genetic studies working with Drosophila are encouraged to apply.
