The Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) is recruiting a new Neuroscience-oriented faculty member within the Department of Anatomy and Neurobiology of the College of Medicine. Our focus is on a tenure-track appointment at the Assistant Professor level. However, highly qualified individuals at a more senior level will also be considered.
The ideal candidate will be an individual with a strong background in neuroscience to contribute to medical and graduate education, and a strong record of productive research in the general area of auditory (or other sensory) neuroscience, including basic and/or translational issues. Approaches utilizing small mammal, non-human primate, or human subjects are welcome. The individual will become an active participant in NEOMED’s Hearing Research Group (https://www.neomed.edu/research-faculty/areas-of-research/hearing/), a group that includes several research laboratories that focus on central and peripheral mechanisms of hearing, both at NEOMED and nearby Kent State University. She/he will be expected to hold or seek external funding for her/his research program. The individual will be expected to teach in medical and graduate courses associated with neuroscience.
Candidates must have earned a Ph.D. and/or M.D and have at least two years postdoctoral research. Experience in formal teaching or guidance of undergraduate and graduate research is highly desirable.
