The Vanderbilt Memory & Alzheimer's Center is accepting applications for a Neuroscience Imaging Analyst for immediate hire. The analyst will work with research faculty, imaging scientists, and the Center Director to develop and implement protocols for processing neuroimaging research data. The analyst will also facilitate grant and manuscript preparation and supervise trainees for a large NIH clinical research portfolio under the guidance of the Center Director.
The position emphasizes clinical (human subjects) research focused on investigating cardiovascular and cerebrovascular risk factors for abnormal cognitive aging, including mild cognitive impairment and Alzheimer’s disease. Day to day responsibilities are outlined below:
Imaging data post-processing activities
Under minimal supervision, exercise discretion and independent judgment to develop and implement brain imaging analysis protocols for specific research studies involving older adults with and without cognitive impairment, including mild cognitive impairment and Alzheimer’s disease
Conduct appropriate analyses for complex, multi-subject, multi-level MRI studies.
Provide reports on analyses to principal investigator and assist with identifying any problems in methodology or results
Perform administrative activities
Conduct literature searches
Develop reports of results, graphs, charts, and tables of research findings.
Assist principal investigator in preparation of grant applications and contract proposals.
Assist with manuscript, scientific abstract, and professional presentation development (with the opportunity to participate as a co-author for publications).
Assist in the training of faculty, postdoctoral fellows, and students in all aspects of neuroimaging analysis. Provide guidance and consultations as needed.
The position provides an excellent opportunity to refine one’s programming and image processing skill set as well as scientific writing and clinical research leadership skills while working with an interdisciplinary team of more than 20 faculty, staff, and trainees.

Position requires a bachelor's degree and 2 years of relevant work experience. A master's degree in relevant field meets minimum requirements. Position is ideally for a master's or PhD level candidate with imaging expertise who wishes to support an NIH-funded neuroscience research program in academia. Programming experience is required.
