Postdoctoral/Research Associate Position is available in Dr. Zena Vexler’s laboratory at the University California San Francisco effective November 1, 2017.
Postdoctoral fellow/Research Associate will study the role of sphingosine-1-phosphate lipid signaling as modulator of immune-neurovascular interactions and brain repair after neonatal experimental stroke.
In particular, we are interested to understand lipid signaling in microglial cells and how it affects release of exosomes/microvesicles and role of microglia-derived vesicles as messengers of injury and repair. Studies will be performed in the in vivo stroke model in neonatal mice and in microglial cells acutely isolated from injured brains.
If interested, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org
Position requires PhD in neuroscience/pharmacology or in related disciplines, hands-on experience with animal experimentation, development of biochemical assays and flow cytometry.
