Position Description Assistant Professor Faculty Position in Brain and Cognitive Science Department of Psychology University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
The Department of Psychology invites applications and nominations for a full-time tenure-track faculty position in Brain and Cognitive Science at the rank of assistant professor. We seek brain or cognitive scientists with experience using computational approaches (broadly defined). Special consideration will be given to applicants with research interests in language/psycholinguistics and/or developmental science. Additional experience working with human brain data would be considered a strength. The successful candidate will show potential to publish in the top disciplinary journals and demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching. Successful candidates are expected to teach effectively at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, establish and maintain an active and independent research program, and provide service to the department, the university and the profession.
PhD in Psychology, Cognitive Science, Computer Science, Neuroscience, Linguistics, or a related field required. The anticipated starting date is August 16, 2018; the starting salary is competitive. Candidates with superior qualifications who will complete all the Ph.D. requirements within the first appointment year may be appointed at the rank of Lecturer. After the Ph.D. requirement is met, the appointment will be changed to Assistant Professor.
