To investigate celllular and molecular mechanisms invovled in mRNA localization and local protein synthesis in neurons, and dysregulation in myotonic dystrophy. Research will involve primary neuronal culture, transfection, fluorescence microscopy and biochemical methods to characterize RNA-protein complexes.
Candidate should have expertise in mammalian cell culture, transfection, cDNA subcloning, PCR, western blot and fluorescence microscopy.
