The Department of Psychology and Neuroscience invites applications for a tenure-track position in neuroscience at the Assistant Professor level, to begin fall 2018. The Department of Psychology and Neuroscience is part of Regis College, the undergraduate college of Regis University that serves approximately 2000 traditional undergraduate students. The Department offers a B.S. degree in neuroscience with about 70 majors. Hiring decisions for this position are pending final budgetary approval.
We seek candidates with a Ph.D. in neuroscience or a related field. The candidate should be dedicated to excellent undergraduate teaching and plan to maintain an active research program that engages bright, motivated undergraduates in their research. The department has outstanding teaching and research facilities, including an animal facility for housing rodents, a state-of-the-art surgical suite, and both animal and human testing spaces.
The successful candidate should be able to teach the following courses: Introduction to Brain and Behavior, Research Methods and Behavioral Statistics and a course or courses in their specialty area. Preference will be given to candidates who can also teach either Functional Neurophysiology and Neuroanatomy or Cellular and Molecular Neuroscience. Teaching in the Regis College core curriculum is also expected of all faculty members.
Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in Neuroscience or related field awarded by August 1, 2018.
Preferred Qualifications: Preferred candidates will have demonstrated teaching excellence and experience conducting research with students.
